River Hamps

The Hamps is a tributary of the River Manifold and, like that river, in Summer it’s known to disappear underground in places.

The fishing here at Winkhill is owned by LADFFA.  It’s small size, clear waters and shallow riffles can lead the inexperienced angler to think there’s just few fish in The Hamps, but the few determined members who are drawn to this stretch know better.

Light tackle and stealth are needed to tempt fish from their haunts
